It goes as follows: -Authenticating -Obtaining IP address -Connecting -Connected If it fails at Authenticating then its a password issue(Solution: Verify password), if it fails as Obtaining IP Address, then its either a wifi range issue or a DHCP issue or a router issue(Solution: Restart router).

If it fails at connecting then it`s mostly an issue with the router range or the phone. Simplest solution if nothing works is restarting both phone and router. Else try manual configuration of Wifi on phone or reset the router to factory and start over. The problem is a little complicated. What happened was you went to the store and bought a nokia.

I got exactly the same problem today and a friend of mine who has a Samsung Smart TV reports the same problem. It makes me think it could be a dodgy update because I get Internet OK from the computer. I tried changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 but it doesn't change anything. Something must have happened to the TV in the last 24 hours.

I wonder is it possible to see when the TV downloaded updates? Same exact problem here, started today, never happened before. - Did a hard factory reset, no luck. So I'm not sure if it's related to an update (I suppose the factory reset should wipe all updates) - Tried connecting to my cell phone personal hotspot, the same.

So the problem is not my router (all other devices work perfectly) - Tried different DNS servers (including 8.8.8.8), no luck - Even though TV reports no connection, it anyways logs me in to my Samsung account on SmartHub, but no application can be started Given that a couple of us started with this symptom today or in the last days, maybe is related to some Samsung service being down?

Same here. Did a factory reset, reset my modem, changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, nothing. But it makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one. So maybe it's an issue with Samsung. Also, after I did factory request, I was able to login into my Samsung account. And I know the internet is working because first time I entered the password wrong and got an error message. So it really seems to be some weird issue coming from Samsung. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

My samsung smart tv UE46 ES6300 (about 2 years old) today aswell won't to connect to internet wireless or throuth cable. Screen shows that tv conected to router but router not conected to internet.

I tried with laptop-everything is fine on cable and wireless. In the bedroom I got 2 months old 22"sams. That still works proper. Me not alone I Mine did the same today (February 24, 2015) - I tried many things... then out of despair went in the general menu - selected support - then software update.

I did not think it would work since the tv was saying it could not connect to the internet though it could connect to the router...

I was able to update with no problem, however, even after that I still can't connect to internet. Gonna have to wait I guess. Reporting the same problem after firmware update, also the tv does not seem to update over the internet neather.

so had to force an update using a USB. I am not at home to try it... but I got a reply from samsung: Dear XXXXX Thank you for your email. Your customer reference number is 21181037XX. Please accept my apologies for your experience regarding this issue and for the inconvenience that this has caused you.

I would like to confirm that Samsung is aware of this issue and our engineers are working on sorting this out very soon.

Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated. Kind regards, Reem S Customer Service Representative Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd UK: 0330 726 7864 EIRE: 0818 717 100 W: www.samsung.com/uk/support Twitter Facebook Here in Canada I have had no service for a day.

TV will connect to Router , but not Internet. I tried many of the mentioned suggestions, but the one that worked was a hard reset followed by a installation of the latest firmware via a USB flashdrive. Be sure you are not in Smarthub or the update option will not be accessible in the support menu. Expect the update/upgrade within 24 hours. It's late Feb 25, so we'll see. Letting them remote manage everything certainly let them see for themselves what updates were on the components and saved me more grief that I went through today in 3 other "experiences" with their techies.

I cannot imagine how I can download a fix when I cannot get to internat at all. Pat You probably do have internet - the message is false. It says that there is no internet when it has trouble communicating with some of the Samsung servers. Samsung provided the fix by getting their server back working here in Canada. Additionally, the last Samsung CSR I spoke with last evening took the time to call me bright & early this morning to ensure all was working & what, if any, suggestions I had.

Yes, Samsung, I do ... Post the accountable error message that you are responsible & not our Internet Providers!!

Huge Thankyou to everyone here that posted possible solutions! In samsung smart TV a network test is the easiest way to connect to the internet.

To perform a network test press the menu button on your remote control you can use upward and down keys to setup ,now select network from the list in the network menu choose network test, if you"r successfully connected, check mark each part of the test But if any part of the test fails lets go for some possible solutions If mac address fails this means a samsung wireless link is not connected properly or its defective, to confirm whether the link is working properly connect the tv to modem with ethernet cable and change network type to wired and check the network test again if the test passes this time the link may be defective If the ip address fails this could be an issue with wireless router, disconnect all physical connection and restart modem.router TV and check If gateway ping fails this also could be a wireless router issue, disconnect all physical connection and restart modem.router TV and check if internet service test fails your network may have limited or poor connectivity there could also be internal firewall took place here you can disable any firewalls and test Hope this will help you, enjoy browsing on smart TV.still if you find difficult please visit for help Samsung smart tv internet connection issue Update your IP address for your Smart TV.

Need to do that occasionally on my wireless printers as well. Each Wireless Hardware Item has it's own IP address. Sometime simply power off the item and power back on works.

And that means "pull the plug" ;so it's no staying in "warm/sleep mode". then the update was installed and... problem fixed!!! Thank you so much! I was so upset that I had to risk waking up my daughter every night watching tv in the living room instead of being able to watch my shows in the back room. I am so glad I saw this because the software update took a moment to become available to choose, and I missed it the first time.
