Michelle Williams is said to be dating her longtime friend Jason Segel. The unexpected new couple were photographed taking a romantic stroll after a meal at Frankie's Spuntino in Brooklyn March 24. 'He put his arm around her and made her laugh as they walked,' says a witness. '[They] seemed very relaxed.' The next day, How I Met Your Mother star Segel was snapped bonding with Matilda, Blue Valentine star Williams' six-year-old daughter, as she went for a ride on her scooter. Doting mother: Jason is also said to have bonded with Michelle's six-year-old daughte .
Not in a million years would I have considered the pairing of and , but when I read the news this morning I fell in love with the very idea. According to , the twosome enjoyed a cozy dinner at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles late last month. They dined for FOUR hours. They drank wine and "joked" a lot.
, who starred in Freaks and Geeks with Jason, popped by to say hi to them. More of the deets in this video from Us (1:53 mark): This new pairing gives me the warm fuzzies and here's why: He's SO cute. I don't watch How I Met Your Mother like the rest of the world apparently does, but I have seen him in *Forgetting Sarah Marshall *and, of course, The Muppet Movie. (Loved!) I also follow him on Twitter and may I say that he's the politest celeb tweeter out there. He's always thanking his fans for sending him messages.
He is a big family guy and often writes about them. He just seems humble and down to earth (for a rich, famous dude). And he wears his heart on his sleeve, which you can see in these two tweets below which make a lot more sense knowing they came right after his date with Michelle.
And I love Michelle. Ever since everything happened with Heath Ledger, I just have a soft spot for her. She's been an example of grace. And the Oscar-nominated star of My Week with Marilyn is so talented in a way that's never in your face. In her interviews she's always like: Just working hard. Taking care of my kid. Reading lots of books. So together... I think they're a great pair! He could make her laugh, which I think she needs.
And Matlida would be endlessly entertained by the guy--after all, he has a house filled with Muppets! They could hang out with Busy, her husband and kid and have dinner parties. Um--OK--clearly I'm giving this a little too much thought here, but you get the point. I feel like they'd just fit. What do YOU think about this rumored pairing. Great match?

best michelle williams dating jason segel wife - What You Should Know About Jason Segel's Family
Holy cute couple alert!! Michelle Williams and Jason Segel were apparently spotted out on a date earlier this month... The couple were at the Chateau Marmont in LA together, and were joined by Michelle's best pal Busy Philipps - who starred in TV show Freaks & Geeks with Jason, Seth Rogen and James Franco.
Busy was only there briefly though, and left them to it. A witness told US Weekly that Michelle and Jason "were super giggly!" We're not surprised - The Muppets' funnyman always makes us laugh. So, do you think they make a cute couple? Let us know!
Williams, 31, and Segel, 32, have been spotted together since late February in very "see and be seen" hot spots, which makes it seem as if they are ready to take the relationship public.
They were spotted enjoying a meal at LA's Chateau Marmont on Feb. 27, and were again spotted dining at Comme Ca on March 16. Just recently the new couple were spotted by photographers while taking a walk together after eating dinner at Frankie's Spuntino in Brooklyn on March 24. According to a witness the two got cozy and didn't seem to care who saw them together. "He put his arm around her and made her laugh as they walked. [They] seemed very relaxed," explained the witness.
Their unexpected coupling is not as unlikely as one might think. According to Us Weekly, the two have been friends for years and were introduced by Williams' good friend, former "Dawson's Creek" co-star and frequent award show date Busy Philipps, who worked with Segel on the short-lived show "Freaks and Geeks." Williams and her 6-year-old daughter, Matilda, live in Brooklyn, while the "How I Met Your Mother" star is based in LA, but they are trying to make it work according to a source, who added, "She hasn't been this happy in a long time."
