Ultimately it all depends on a couple’s taste, the choice can be as complicated as finding your soulmate. That’s why the food team has selected an eclectic handful of restaurants in a variety of price ranges. So let Cupid’s arrow fly as you target one that’s just right for you and your favorite dining companion. Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen There’s nothing more intimate then sharing a spicy margarita at the bar at Gabbi’s in Old Towne Orange.

The “gour-Mex” restaurant is a sexy Hacienda-inspired venue with friendly servers. But, it’s the bartenders who keep my husband and I coming back. Gabbi’s bar is the first place we think of whenever we can escape to dinner and leave parental duties behind for a few hours.

Since opening in Old Towne more than a decade ago, Gabbi’s has become one of the best known restaurants in Orange County. It checks every box: fabulous food, fun atmosphere and friendly service. It’s consistently one of the toughest tables to book. Even lunch requires reservations. But, sometimes if you get lucky, you can find two seats at the bar — preferably at the corner so you can face each other.

You get the full menu, and the undivided attention of the bartenders who are more than happy to keep the drinks flowing. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday. 141 S. Glassell St., Orange; 714-633-3038, —Nancy Luna Summit House One of Orange County’s hidden gems, The Summit House is nestled on a hilltop with panoramic views of Orange County to the south and the San Bernardino Mountains to the north.

You’ll feel like you’ve taken your honey to the fanciest lodge in a mountain resort. It’s open for both lunch and dinner during Valentine’s Day week. Order the famed Stock Yards of Chicago prime rib, which is slow roasted and carved to order. The creamed corn dish is one of the best I’ve ever had (and if you really like it, make sure you ask for the recipe card.) The cozy dining room exudes romance with its high beam ceilings, fireplaces and floor to ceiling windows which offer fabulous views from every table.

Open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and dinner nightly starting at 5 p.m. Reservations recommended. 2000 E.

Bastanchury Road, Fullerton; 714-671-4111, LSXO One of Pacific City’s most attractive dining rooms is Bluegold, Blackhouse Hospitality’s flagship farm-to-table concept restaurant. But the real romantic hot spot is LSXO, artfully hidden in the middle of Bluegold next to the wine room.

Step inside (the first time they’ll have to show the way) and you feel as if you’ve stumbled into an elegant speakeasy in Saigon’s District 1. Dark, intimate and mysterious, the 28-seat space with its own tiny bar purrs with romance. LSXO is a spinoff of Blackhouse’s Little Sister restaurants in Manhattan Beach and downtown Los Angeles. Its menu is home-style Vietnamese cuisine — the food that chef Tim Vuong ate as a kid in the San Gabriel Valley.

Some favorites: Fried Sea Bass with scallion oil, peanuts, herbs, ginger chili sauce and fresh lime; and ‘Canh Chua’ Viet Sweet and Sour Soup with catfish, tamarind, pineapple, ngo om herbs and chili. Brunch: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Lunch: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday – Friday. Dinner: 5-10 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 5:30-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Reservations recommended.21016 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach; 714-374-0083, —Paul Hodgins El Coyotito When you eat out every night for a living, as I do, the concept of date night takes on new meaning.

Romance? I find that in all sorts of restaurants, especially in those out-of-the-way places where you might least expect to find it, like El Coyotito, a little Mexican cafe with a squeaky screen door in a vintage strip mall several blocks removed from any major streets. Put a few dollars in the jukebox. Order an old-school margarita. And share a platter of grilled langoustines slathered in spicy chili salsa. 8 a.m.

– 10 p.m. daily. 32141 Alipaz St., San Juan Capistrano; 949-496-9439, –Brad A. Johnson Eno Steak It’s rare to find intimacy and great steaks in the same place. Most steakhouses are grand, meant to be social, see-and-be-seen affairs. The 40-seat Eno Steak, on the other hand, feels private and introverted, tucked inside the Ritz-Carlton’s wine vault. The steaks are fantastic. The wines, impeccable. And the tables are spaced luxuriously apart. You’ll need to reserve several days to a week in advance for weekends.

6 – 10 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. 1 Ritz-Carlton Drive, Laguna Niguel, 949-240-2000, –B.A.J. SeaLegs Wine Bar We dined there over two weeks ago and it still keeps coming up in conversation. SeaLegs new chef, Ken McCaskill, hails from Louisiana and he won us over completely when we tasted his Southern style fried chicken.

Served only on Thursdays, it’s crispy outside, juicy inside with a gentle touch of Cajun heat that lingers on your lips. The perfect wine pairing, a fruit forward but sturdy Daou Chardonnay, cleansed the palate between bites and kept us wanting more. Ever since that magic meal we’ve been lusting after it. We’re saving it for date night when we’ll add a plate of charcuterie with fried brioche toast points to start and a chocolate flourless cake, studded with bits of peanut butter cup, to share at the end. 4-10:30 p.m.
